About me
I am an Instructor at University College Roosevelt who teaches linguistics courses. I received my PhD in Applied Linguistics and Technology in 2021 from Iowa State University, my MA in Linguistics in 2014 from the University of Southern California, and my BA in Linguistics in 2012 from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). From 2022 to 2024, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Language Studies at Radboud University in Nijmegen.
My published works have mostly been in the (sub)fields of second language (L2) pronunciation learning and phonetics. Within L2 pronunciation learning, I aim to find the most efficient way to use technology to help learners improve their production and perception of L2 segments (consonants and vowels) and lexical tones (such as those in Chinese and Thai). Within phonetics, I mainly focus on investigating how tones are produced and perceived.
