About me

My research interests lie in language variation and change, especially in the West Germanic languages, but I also enjoy research projects which go beyond my direct discipline, having previously collaborated with both computational linguists and literacy scholars. Before joining UCR, I worked as a lecturer at both Utrecht University and the University of Leiden alongside my PhD studies at Utrecht University and the Meertens Institute. I also completed a BA (Hons) in French and German from Oxford University, a PGCE in Modern Foreign Languages from UCL and an RMA in Linguistics from Utrecht University. My passion for teaching originally stems from my earlier experience as a secondary school teacher in the United Kingdom as part of the Teach First programme.
