Derk Sauer is a Dutch journalist and media entrepreneur, and founder of The Moscow Times and Vedomosti in Russia. With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the importance of championing freedom is greater than it has been in a long time. Sauer will share his own experience with, and vision of, recent developments, with a focus on questions of journalism, freedom of information, and political rhetoric.
During the ceremony, nearly 100 students will receive their Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree. Of the graduating class, half have a Dutch nationality, in total 23 nationalities are represented. The majority of graduates will continue with a Master’s program, at universities such as the University of Oxford in the UK, Science Po in Paris, James Cook University in Australia, and Paññāsāstra University of Cambodia.
