The last few months will be one for the history books.
The Coronavirus outbreak has taken us all out of our comfort zone. It required us to transition from face-to-face to a blend of online and in-class teaching and learning. Our students, faculty and staff worked around the clock to make the transition as smooth as possible. Small-scale and intensive was certainly put to the test in more than one way this semester. But the can-do attitude of the UCR community enabled us to transition successfully.
After the Fall Break, we will continue teaching in this flexible manner. Should the national conditions with regards to COVID-19 deteriorate, we are prepared and ready to switch to fully online teaching again – if the situation demands it.
First though, a well-deserved Fall Break has finally arrived. It will be a moment for us to reflect, but most of all, to rest. As our little community goes our own way for these few days, we remind you of our online community diary. Here we are sharing the experiences, thoughts and stories of our community. The whole UCR community can continue contributing. In fact, we encourage you to like, comment and share. And if you have a story of your own, we would love to hear from you.
For now though, be safe, take care of each other and enjoy the break!
