The last few weeks will forever be etched in our memories.
The Coronavirus outbreak has taken us all out of our comfort zone. It required us to transition from face-to-face to online teaching and learning. Our students, faculty and staff worked around the clock to make the transition as smooth as possible. Small-scale and intensive was certainly put to the test in more than one way. But the can-do attitude of the UCR community enabled us to transition successfully.
On Monday, 30 March 2020, we will start to deliver the majority of our classes online. Our students, some in Middelburg, others as far away as Zimbabwe, will be able to continue their studies at UCR uninterrupted, albeit in a different format.
First though, a well-deserved Spring Break has finally arrived. It will be a moment for us to reflect, but most of all, to rest. As our little community goes our own way for these few days, we have launched an online community diary. Over the next few weeks, we will be sharing our experiences, our thoughts and our stories here. The whole UCR community can contribute. In fact, we encourage you to like, comment and share. And if you have a story of your own, we would love to hear from you.
For now though, be safe, take care of each other and enjoy the break!
