Since 2008, Dr. Snijder has been responsible for the business processes of UCR. In a personal statement to colleagues and stakeholders, he said:
“After 12 wonderful years at University College Roosevelt (UCR), my time has come to take on a new challenge. From mid-October I will be joining Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) as President of the Executive Board. It has been an absolute pleasure to work with colleagues, students, alumni and our partners. I am proud of what we, together, have achieved at UCR over the past few years. I leave with many fond memories and the conviction that UCR has a bright future ahead of it. And I wish you all the very best for the future.”
“Jorrit is an experienced leader, a patient administrator and a valued colleague,” said Dean of UCR, Bert van den Brink. “He has a sharp, strategic mind, is remarkably well-connected, and is a much admired leader of our administrative departments. I am very grateful for all the work he has done for UCR. His new role as President of the Executive Board of Breda University of Applied Sciences will fit him like a glove. BUas strives to be different. Jorrit’s experience at remarkably different UCR will be an asset to his new institution. I wish Jorrit and his family all the best for the future.”
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Ir. Gerard van Harten, said in a statement: “Jorrit has been instrumental in the development of UCR over the past 12 years, from a “startup” college to a well-established institution. Recently, the addition of an Engineering department was made possible after he secured the financial basis for its establishment. On behalf of the entire UCR community, I thank him for his dedication and contribution to UCR and wish him all the best in his new position at BUas.”
Dr. Snijder will remain in office at UCR until 1 October 2020. The Board of Trustees will soon start a procedure to appoint a suitable successor.
