Over the past years Herman Lelieveldt has extensively studied food policies to foster the healthy choice as part of his work as a Jean Monnet Chair on Food Governance in the EU. His research on the Dutch prevention agreement against overweight showed that voluntary agreements are not a very effective way to create a healthier food environment and that governments need to step up their efforts to nudge people into eating more fruit and vegetables. His position paper for the roundtable can be found here.
