The External Relations Officer (ERO) will play a central role in UCR’s efforts to strengthen ties within Zeeland and beyond. When necessary, the ERO will represent UCR and the board in contact with the media and interest groups. She will also represent the board at meetings and events, as well as on project working groups, when asked.
UCR has been increasingly committed to establishing and deepening local partnerships and increasing its contribution to the local field of knowledge. The ERO will play a supporting role in this, joining forces both inside and outside UCR, thus strengthening UCR’s position as a strategic knowledge partner.
In addition to being responsible for stakeholder partnerships, the ERO will also focus on organizing public events in order to bridge the distance between UCR and the local community. This will include public lectures and symposia.
Prof. Edward Nieuwenhuis, Dean UCR says, “Our new dynamic External Relations Officer has a passion for forging meaningful connections and fostering influential collaborations. This is essential to strengthening our presence in the community and beyond, and taking UCR’s relationships to new heights.”
Marieke van de Laar says about the External Relations Officer role, “I am thrilled to take on this new role at University College Roosevelt. I am really looking forward to contributing to UCR’s growth by strengthening our connections, fostering collaborations and actually being able to show what a vibrant community UCR is!”
