Student for a Day gives you the chance to step into the shoes of a UCR student. You’ll join one of our current students for a day, follow real classes, explore the city of Middelburg and get a genuine feel for our close-knit academic community.

A typical day might include:

• Joining a class in a subject connected to your interests. Even if it’s not the exact major you plan to pursue, you’ll still get an authentic sense of what academic life at UCR feels like.
• Exploring student life: from walking through our historic campus to seeing what student housing looks like.
• Exploring Middelburg: walk around in Middelburg with your student host and ask all the questions you have about academics, social life, and living in Zeeland.
• Experiencing the UCR atmosphere: small-scale classes, international perspectives, and a community that encourages curiosity and growth.

The Student for a Day program runs each semester during the teaching period. You can join us from February through April and from September to November, when classes are in full swing.

When you sign up, we’ll connect you with a UCR student taking courses in a cluster related to your interests— Business & Entrepreneurship, Data Science & Intelligent Systems, Environment & Sustainability, Government & Society, Health, Cognition & Behavior, and Media, Culture & Communication . Even if the class you attend isn’t in your preferred academic discipline, you’ll still get valuable insight into the cluster of your interest, UCR’s learning style and student experience.
