Psychology Pathway
Your route to
- Psychology
- Learning about people
If you want to understand how people think, feel, and act, the Psychology Pathway offers you a broad and rigorous introduction to the scientific study of human behavior, emotion, and cognition. You examine psychological processes across personal, social, and organizational contexts, and explore how psychological knowledge contributes to mental health, leadership, and societal well-being.
Pathways: not a separate program or a fixed bachelor track, but a way to guide your course choices within UCR’s flexible curriculum.
You take courses such as Abnormal Psychology, Lifespan Developmental Psychology, Medical and Health Psychology, Higher Order Functions, Psychodiagnostics & Psychotherapies, Leadership, Social Psychology, and Statistics. These courses give you a strong foundation in psychological disorders, cognitive processes, diagnostic assessment, social behavior, and quantitative research methods.
Throughout the pathway, you learn to critically evaluate scientific literature, interpret empirical data, and integrate perspectives from clinical, cognitive, biological, and social psychology. You combine this profile with courses from other disciplines, allowing you to personalize your academic route and broaden your intellectual perspective.
This pathway prepares you for competitive master’s programs in psychology and behavioral sciences, and for future work in clinical, organizational, educational, health, and research-oriented fields.
