We are deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic accident that claimed the lives of three pupils and one staff member of the elementary school “de Warande” in Axel.

Last week, our region was shaken by this devastating traffic accident in Zeeuws-Vlaanderen. We are aware that members of our own community had personal connections with some of those affected, making this loss feel especially close to home for many of us.

As an educational institution, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences and support to the families and loved ones of those who lost their lives, as well as to the entire school community affected by this tragic event.

Our thoughts are with all pupils, staff, families, and friends during this incredibly difficult time. We wish everyone impacted strength, courage, and comfort in the days and weeks ahead.
