Dr. Babette O. Rump, MD

I am a medical doctor specialized in public health as well as an ethicist with a focus on public health. At UCR, I teach in the Biomedical and Life Sciences tracks coordinate the pre-med track. I find great joy in interacting with students who challenge my idea’s and renew my thinking.

Alongside my academic work, I advise health institutions on ethical challenges and serve on supervisory boards in healthcare. My work lies at the intersection of health, ethics, and policy, and explores fundamental questions such as: what does it mean to be healthy, what is good care, and how can we fairly distribute risks and responsibilities in society?

Educating future health professionals is both a privilege and a responsibility and I am proud to take that on at UCR.
