Drs. Marieke van de Laar

I graduated from UCR in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Psychology and completing additional tracks in Sociology and Political Science. Eager to dive deeper into the world of business and communication, I continued my studies at Nyenrode Business University, earning a Master’s degree in Marketing. I then pursued a Research Master in Marketing at Tilburg University.

After graduating, I gained experience through freelance consulting and worked with the Dutch Red Cross, where I helped develop integration projects for unaccompanied minors. In 2018, I returned to UCR—this time as part of the staff. As External Relations Officer, I focus on building and strengthening connections between UCR and the wider Zeeland region (and beyond). I also work to develop meaningful partnerships and coordinate public events that bring our academic community and society closer together.
