University College Roosevelt is pleased to share that Professor Ger Rijkers has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of the international peer-reviewed journal Vaccines, published by MDPI.

Vaccines, founded in 2013, is an open access journal dedicated to laboratory and clinical vaccine research, immunization, and vaccine policy . The journal publishes research articles, reviews, and case reports across a broad spectrum of topics, including immunological mechanisms, vaccine development and evaluation, immune responses to vaccines, and regulatory and public health aspects .

The journal has an Impact Factor of 3.4 and a CiteScore of 9.9, and is indexed in major international databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science , reflecting its strong academic standing in the field of medicine and immunology.

In his message as Editor-in-Chief, Professor Rijkers highlights the importance of advancing knowledge on vaccines and vaccination in a rapidly changing global context, including shifting public attitudes and the impact of climate change on infectious diseases. He underscores the journal’s open access mission to ensure that research is accessible not only to scientists, but to society at large.
