Tuition Fees
Tuition Fees
UCR is a small-scale and intensive honours college. This means tuition is slightly higher than the standard Dutch university fee, in line with the small-scale academic experience UCR offers. Tuition fees are indexed annually, which means they are adjusted slightly each year to account for inflation and changing costs.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, the tuition fees are:
- €5,105 for students with a European nationality*
- €12,045 for students with a non-European nationality
* You qualify as a European student if you have a passport from one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Croatia, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Spain, Suriname, Sweden and Switzerland.
The tuition fees for academic years 2027-2028 and 2028-2029 are projected to be:
- €5,361 / €5,629 for students with a European nationality, respectively*
- €12,651 / €15,000 for students with a non-European nationality, respectively
These future tuition fees are indicative and subject to change and/or indexation. No rights can be derived from the indicative fees for future academic years.
Tuition Fees for Students Starting in Spring
Tuition Fees for Students Starting in Spring
If you begin your studies in the Spring semester (February), you only pay for that semester. When you are in your sixth semester, you will once more only pay for that one semester.
You can pay your tuition in full at once, or in up to nine monthly instalments. A one-time administrative fee of €25 applies if you choose to pay in instalments. Please note that if you are a first-year non-European student, you will need to pay in full, as required by Dutch visa regulations. For your second and third year you may opt to pay in instalments.
Housing and Living Costs
Housing and Living Costs
At UCR, all students live on campus as part of our residential learning community. You can expect to pay around €400 per month for your room, plus an additional €150 per month in service costs, which cover utilities, internet, and other shared facilities. This brings your total housing cost to approximately €550 per month, or €6,600 per year. Room sizes and housing arrangements vary, so please bear in mind that this is only an estimate.
In addition to housing, you need to budget for daily living expenses such as groceries, books, insurance, local travel, and leisure activities. On average, students spend about €500 per month on these costs, or €6,000 per year.
Visa and Residence Permit Costs
Visa and Residence Permit Costs
If you come from outside the EU/EEA, you will need a visa and/or Dutch residence permit to live and study in the Netherlands. You can expect to pay approximately €286 once—for the entire three-year program—covering the application and processing costs.
