PPLE Pathway (Politics, Psychology, Law & Economics)
Your route to
- Governance
- European Law
- Public Policy
- International Relations
If you are interested in governance, European law, public policy, or international relations, the PPLE Pathway allows you to explore how political systems, legal frameworks, economic forces, and behavioral perspectives interact in shaping modern societies.
Pathways: not a separate program or a fixed bachelor track, but a way to guide your course choices within UCR’s flexible curriculum.
You take courses such as Foundations of Comparative Politics, Public International Law, Foundations of EU Law, Peace & Conflict, and Philosophy of Emotion, complemented by disciplinary perspectives in economics and psychology-related fields. Together, these courses help you understand political institutions, legal reasoning, international relations, collective behavior, and the philosophical dimensions of human motivation and decision-making.
Throughout the pathway, you learn to analyze complex societal challenges from multiple perspectives, integrate political, legal, and economic reasoning, and critically engage with global issues such as conflict, institutional change, and international cooperation. As with all UCR pathways, this focus is embedded within a broader Liberal Arts & Sciences education.
This pathway prepares you for advanced study in European law, public policy, international relations, political science, governance, and interdisciplinary social science programs.
