The Russian invasion of Ukraine on 24 February 2022 has turned the world upside down. Our students from the region tell us about the impossible situations their family and friends find themselves in. In addition to all the emotional stress, students also are experiencing financial difficulties. Contributions from parents or other sources are often impossible to transfer to the Netherlands.
UCR wants to help by starting an emergency fund to support its own students. We feel a responsibility towards all affected students, regardless of their origin or nationality. Any contribution you can make would be greatly appreciated. You can donate here.
Would you like to support students who are directly affected by the situation in Ukraine? Donate now!
On behalf of all of our students affected by this crisis, we would like to thank you very much for your support!
What is the goal of the campaign?
We would like to have the means to contribute half the living expenses and study costs for five UCR students up to a year. For this we need approximately 25,000 Euro.
Who do I donate to?
All contributions go to the foundation Friends of University College Roosevelt and will be allocated to the emergency fund.
Who are the Friends of UCR?
The Friends of University College Roosevelt is the independent support foundation of University College Roosevelt. The mission of the foundation is to raise funds to give student financial aid, allowing them to study at UCR. The foundation is recognized as a charity by the Central Bureau for Fundraising (CBF) and is considered by the tax authorities to be an Institution for Public Welfare (Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling, ANBI). Go to www.ucr.nl/friends for more information.
Is my donation to the Friends of UCR tax-deductible?
Yes, the Friends of UCR foundation is a recognized charity and designated as an ANBI by the tax authorities. Donations are tax-deductible from income or corporation tax. This also applies to donations through crowdfunding.
How are the campaign funds spent?
All proceeds are used to support UCR students. The Friends of UCR will review applications from students in need, and try to support as many students as possible. If more funds are donated than are currently needed by UCR students, then the remaining funds will be used to financially support students from the Ukraine region applying to UCR for the academic year 2022-2023.
